Wow, that guy is still licensed to practice? Did anybody tip Nancy Grace off?

I wouldn't bother with Nancy. Thatnetwork is showing Aruba tourism commercials during her show nowadays.
She's just an unprincipled sellout who never gave a damn about this family.

Nancy fancy pants pretty soon forgets where her ratings c ome from, then doesn't she. Dr Phil, he knows what's going on.

I used to like Dr. Phil but IMHO he's little if any betetr than any of the rest of them. It made me sick how he sent Ty Ritter door-to-door asking "hey do you have any prostitutes in there against their will hyuk hyuk?", simply looking for ratings from what is a real and growing problem: human trafficking, not only forced prostitution but all kinds of taking advantage of poor and unedeucated people just trying to go somewhere else that is better. I have something like 200 articles and 53 organizations dedicated to fighting human trafficking and good ol' Dr. Phil made a mockery out of every last one of them.

No I did not. That would be harassment and harassment is wrong.

Even if the victim is a spineless liar who has the parenting skills of a banana slug.

John in Canada-

You have perhaps heard of Rebecca Middleton? Well, as horrific as her murder was, her family did what 99% of people in that situation would have done: took their daughter home, put her to rest, and assumed justice would be served (of course it was not, although hope for real justice in Bermuda still exists). If Natalee was dead and her body at all recoverable, the Aruban government had absolutely nothing to lose by finding Natalee's body to get her family, the media, and attention off the island.

Why didn't they do this? Well there's three possibilities:
1) they did not do this because Natalee was out of their reach (either alive or dead),
2) they thought that this would blow over without a body and had never heard of Rebecca Middleton,
3) the truth was far more shocking than a murder- even an unsolved one.

I would like to drop another name: Amy Bradley. She supposedly fell off a cruise ship near Curacao after making contact with locals from Aruba (they even invited her to Carlos 'n' Charlie's). But lo and behold she turned up three seperate times since them- most recently in Barbados. The FBI is still investigating, her parents believe she may be alive but is under duress and in danger, but the Curacao government still insist she fell overboard.

I think it is quite possible Natalee is alive, John- and if she is, she is definitely a captive like Amy. What would cause you to stay away from Aruba more, John- an unsolved murder that could happen anywhere, or a story of a drugged, kidnapped girl who was just one of many victims? Remember, Dave Holloway found four other girls who said J2K drugged and raped them AND gave them to others too. Of course, they changed their mind about testifying after Dennis Jacobs 'talked' to them...

Aruba NEEDS Natalee to be dead, regardless of if she is or not.

Keep up the good work Dan. I admire your dedication to the family. The two year mark is coming up. There hasn't been a day that I haven't prayed for them. ....... oh, btw, that Aruba ad turns my stomach!

This is LUDICROUS. If people with the power of oprah and doctor phil. and that nancy grace don't get behind this who will? Are there any new leads in the case, danfromtexas?

Well, let's see...
1. Beth Twitty is not seeing JonBenet Ramsey's dad. Again the trash tabloids get away with something akin to slander!
2. The ATA will be attending a conference in New Orleans in July. A third protest is forming thanks to the 'Boston 5' organizers.
3. The Dutch are still working on the case; recently they looked over the whole VDS property, seized a number of items and letters, and also went through the Kalpoes property. The investigation is still open, and the Kalpoes and Joran are still suspects (of course, that could all change tomorrow based on the whims of the Dutch investigators).
4. Beth has a new book out, which should keep Aruba in a negative light in the States for awhile longer. It's not going away like you hoped is it, Aruba?
5. The ATA/AHATA still hasn't released tourism figures, which makes me wonder why they're being so modest about that booming tourism economy they boast? I wonder if they're still only counting hotels and resorts with at least a 75% capacity to fluff the numbers?
6. There's talk about organizing a group similar to the ICV (International Cruise Victims) to help Americans who are victims of crime overseas get justice. This would be similar to Dave Holloway's group except that unlike Dave's group this one could actually spend money on natalee's case (U.S. law prohibits Dave's foundation to spend money on Natalee's case as long as he is on the BoD). There's been talk of including Canadians too, in rememberance of Rebecca Middleton. The consensus among the people looking into that (and yes I am one) is that Aruba is a perfect target to start, but the group would not be dedicated wholly on Natalee.

Thanks for setting things straight, Dan. Did Beth and Jug break up, tho? Also, what activities have you personally been involved in?

thanks!!!

Yes, Jug and Beth divorced due to 'irreconcilable differences'. It is my opinion that Jug didn't like Beth away from him all the time on her speaking tour. But again that's just my guess.

I admit to helping the protest organizers with their tasks- again, there's another protest coming up in New Orleans in about a month. I've been doing some fundraising work for TES, and I'm exploring that political organization idea I've already mentioned. I'm not as active as I once was, unfortunately: some past disappointments in trying to work with Natalee's family have taught me to be very careful what efforts I spend my time on.

I will look into it, thanks.

I have yet to speak to anyone who can definitvely confirm or deny Beth is involved with Mr. Ramsey. At least one person who is close to the Holloways says this is so, but I really don't trust the National Enquirer!

I'm glad that people are still concerned and angry at Aruba. I was surprised to learn that our new office manager is one of many people who cancelled her trip to Aruba not long afater Natalee vanished. She told me that she did her own research and along with what she saw on TV, decided Aruba was corrupt and not as safe as protrayed.

Not be be devil's advocate, but Nancy and Great report on what their producers tell them is newsworthy. If you want them to keep on top of this fiasco, write them and ask them to. Let them know the public still thinks this is newsworthy!

6:48 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

the sad truth maybe it isnt newsworthy anymore if there is nothing happening. do you think the case can be solved, dan? what are the latest leads?

7:57 AM
Blogger Dan in Tx said...

Tanesha, unfortunately you may be right. This is something the family realized and expected to happen eventually, but they have also said that without the media attention Natalee would've been forgotten almost from the start. They have also said that media attention and public support were key in getting the Dutch into the investigation- even if it may have been too late.

One thing Arubans (who often say, "We did everything we can") do not understand is, if we judge their corrupt and incompetent law enforcement and government's best to be unacceptable, they cannot make us come to their island.
